Big Jim: I like country music because of the story aspect. Yes, there's heartache and disaster, but there's also hope, redemption, determination and perseverance. Even in some of the "pop" country stuff out there, you can hear people writing about what happened yesterday (or what could actually happen) and about what they hope can happen tomorrow.
By saying "negative verse positive", I don't mean everything is sunshine and roses. To me it just means that there's a chance for a better tomorrow. Beats a "no hope at all" song every day of the week.
