You really don't need to go around the world to get next door. I believe you may have said a good song is a good song no matter if it appears negative or postive. Things were a lot more in black and white in the 50's than the 90's or so but doesn't excuse bad music. And again, I was giving song examples of what someone would consider a postive or negative song. It doesn't matter if it was written yesterday or 60 years ago.

I have two modern country radio stations programmed on my stereo that I can listen to. The truth is that most of the offerings being played sounds like it is in the middle of a trashing machine, meaning I can't tell heads or tails what I'm listening to.

It's like they are trying to say something and nothing at the same time. Songs from the past probably can be described in postive and negative terms. I don't think there are any negative songs that have been recorded except where they are small releases that only a handful of people may have gotten a copy.
