There are so many websites that you can become a member and submit your songs to whether for free or for a fee. The ones that do charge a fee from $5 - $35 like ala Taxi or Broadjam. Which I have been a member of both and think they are probably the most legiate for what they offer. The one thing everyone says to get heard is you need a great recording. Now I can understand that with so many submissions they wouldnt want to listen to a bunch of junk. And as a band or artist trying to get a record deal you would want to present youre best. But for a Songwriter who can compose and write a zillion hit songs but isnt a singer or even is a singer but is only looking to get there songs cut by a major artist who would record it again anyway. Is there anyone in the industry that can overlook a not so great but still good recording to be able to open the door to GREAT songwriters that are not performing artists. Wouldnt this offer so many more options for performing artist that are not songwriters as well.
If you dont have to be a great Songwriter to be recognized as an Artist. Why do you have to be a great Artist to be recognized as a Songwriter?

"First came if only? Then came what if? After that I'll bet. Next was just maybe. Followed by Aha, I thought so! And eventually, okay, what next!" -Brian Austin Whitney on the stages of creativity and Just Plain Folks.
