WHAT???? If you can't squeeze it by? You can walk into any record company, publishing company, or artist rep in Nashville and give them your song. If it's packaged correctly and you follow some basic guidelines, like calling first to ask permission (most will grant it) it will get listened to by someone who's looking for great songs. That's the path of least resistance. If you want to work a little harder, you can attend workshops and seminars where the speakers will agree to take your song personally.

Dude, getting it in the right hands is the easy part. It takes absolutely no talent whatsoever to network. I'm a member of a publisher group that is by no means exclusive, and guests come all the time...major publishers and producers. They all offer to take 1 (one) song from meeting attendees. And they listen.

If you're a soldier going into battle and you tenatiously and creatively work your way through the front lines, and through your sustained efforts you finally are able to corner the enemy general, all your effort will be have been wasted if you don't have a bullet in the chamber.
