I don't understand, you're saying I shouldn't be concerned with syllable counting? I thought good lyric writing was about relating an experience or a feeling of life in 3 or 4 minutes but doing it in a manner that is accepted. A rhyme scheme, flow, meter, syllable counting is a part of that, I thought? I don't try to make it perfect but I do try to get it pretty close. So this is very confusing to me when I hear people say that's not important.

I'm very confused!
