Yet we do not have a melody forum. Why is that?
Is it because melodies are so easy? or the opposite? Too hard to discuss.
I think it's because the internet attracts more wordsmiths than musicians. It's a piece of cake to type a lyric and post it...more involved for an MP3, and also very uncomfortable for a musician to post something unfinished...whereas a lyric is often thought of as finished. Very difficult to discuss melody, yes it is. It's like that old "dancing about architecture" quote...it's easy to discuss words with words, but not so easy to discuss melody and chord structure with words.
