I like having a thesaurus and, sometimes, a rhyming dictionary on hand. I do find it quicker and easier not to use an all-in-one program like this but for someone else it might just be the thing.
Lyrics: I love witty lyrics. My idols are writers like Dorothy Field, Cole Porter. I recognize that much -- probably most -- of the public does not share that taste. But that won't keep me from shooting for that level!
After all, there's no excuse for writing bad lyrics no matter whether they or the tune is more important.
