Noel I see nothing wrong with BOTH statements....it is especially wrong of you to take them out of context and try to belittle me ......now that is a persoanl attack.....Most people who know anything about writing/producing music and marketing songs would agree with both statements I made in the context they were said. In pop music it is usually the melody that is the hook first and is the main reason for the success of the song.....lyrics are important but much less so.
I was referring to lyrics without music when I said that they were just poems.....most need a lot of work to turn them into a song as there is a big difference between lyrics specifically written for a piece of music and a poem which is hoped can be set to music.
