It's a tool. Nothing more nothing less, to be used occationally as and when needed.

It dosn't write lyrics or work out structure or flow.

I often count sylabals and use a thesaurus so I must be lacking and making errors in my approach.

The above is true but some of us don't remmemer every word we know. It's an age thing. We need to be reminded at times. The trick is knowing which word to use and where to use it and how to use it and that is not a feature of any software that I know of.
