...With all due respect penning a few lines without musical knowledge ... LOL, If you can't see how dismissive and insulting those few words are ("penning a few lines") to most lyric-writers, then it goes a long way to understanding why this thread has gone on and on in a negative fashion. The fact that you "don't mean to insult", doesn't stop the fact that you probably are (ha, ha). As for me, I have always been 100% for lyric writers to learn music and if folks want to use a program to keep track of their writings and use a rhyming dictionary and a thesaurus -- why not? "A carpenter is not measured by the tools they use, but by the quality of their craftsmanship". Kevin I agree.... naturally certain people might feel insulted if their weaknesses are exposed. They will get over it and perhaps the message might hit home.
