All kidding aside, since my teen years I've been a diehard libertarian. A laissez-faire capitalist. However, any form of government is going to punish some and reward others. One fatal flaw in laissez-faire capitalism lies in the concept "property rights", particularly land ownership. It's possible in laissez-faire capitalism (at least in theory) for a company like Walmart to eventually own the World's land mass. In which case, everyone that respected property rights would be a slave to Walmart. The problem with Socialism is in their motto: " to each according to his needs". Under this philosophy the irresponsible would benefit, while the responsible would be burdened by the irresponsible. One example... under Socialistic conditions, a woman giving birth to a dozen children would be rewarded and given a greater share of the common wealth, while the responsible couple living within their means would be penalized by paying more into the pot.
