The British with all their intelligence, might and aggressive power were not able to take control of a little band of pilgrims when this country started. It may happen sometimes but there are exceptions.

I was speaking more about steady state conditions. Once the revolution is over, the smart, educated, aggressive people will rise to the top of whatever system they put in place and the less intelligent, or less educated, or lazy people will sink to the bottom. The ones at the bottom will blame the ones at the top for their ills no matter whether they are socialist, capitalist, communist, or something else, because they won't accept responsibility for their situation. The "I dropped out of school in the seventh grade, never held a real job, and now the man will not give me free medical care" mentality.
