Interesting, Mike, is that this very notion (about God not wanting to be alone) is integral to Islam.
One of the suras (verses) in the Koran states something along the lines of God saying "I was a hidden treasure, and desired to be known".

These both make it sound as if God was lonely. I like the concept of the Hindu "Dance of Shiva" better, which is more along the lines of God being an "experience junkie".
