Scott,
You can't push the river. Yes, it's as old as the hills. Of course, folks who do whatever as a hobby don't have to stay current. I have a little side hobby of surgery. I practice surgery as one would have in the civil war, using whiskey for anesthesia. My instruments are some I've collected in antique shops, including a wonderful set of bone handle saws of different sizes and shapes.
Mostly I've been practicing on my pets, I learned stitching on our pomeranian, Muffin. Luckily you can't see my first attempts with her long fur, it's pretty pathetic. But our beagle mix buddy has some of my best work, including a hand stitched fleur de lis where I neutered him.
Lately I've been sending out some promotional material to some of the civil war re-enactors. They occasionally have accidents and are in need of medical attention. I really want to try bleeding with leeches on someone other than myself.
Anyway, I know how you feel.
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
