Burning and copying isn't new. Remember when blank cassettes came out. Everyone was copying from the radio, and once dual cassette decks became the norm on stereo systems, everyone was making copies for dual purposes. Also I'm not sure copying & burning cuts too deep into the problem, after all the manufacturers of blank tapes & cd have to pay a small percentage to the lables. The t.v. and video industry seemed to cope with this fine.
The problem is when you cut the Artist & songwriter out of the picture completely. But that's a topic for probably another thread.
