I love the old crooners, too. Bing, Perry Como and Eddy Arnold are soothing voices who interpreted their song selections with simple subtlety. (how many "S" words can the writer include in one sentence?) Karen Carpenter might even be considered a female crooner.
Question: What can you learn from those old Bing tunes that you can apply to writing a song in today's world?
