My absolute favorite "musical moment" in a song is the bridge in the Police's "Every Breath You Take" ("...since you're gone I've been lost without a trace..."), which modulates up a minor third, but never makes it to the One chord, but goes back and forth between 4 and 5, IOW You're in C Major, then your bridge is Ab/Ab/Bb/Bb/Ab/Ab/Bb/Bb/ ...then back to "C"...

The song being about obsession, Sting does not lose his head in the bridge but "ups the stakes" singing in a slightly higher register and much more emotionally, replacing the "calm" of the verses and chorus with an obsessively focused, over-enunciated "plea", so you know he's serious, and it works magically.
