I agree with you wholeheartedly. I also prefer Nat Cole's version over the rest. My appreciation for Hoagy is limited to his songwriting... 'cause, like me, his singing left a little to be desired... yet he performed quite often... even in movies.
Stardust is probably his most memorable composition but he really was prolific.
