Your early observations about those Beatle songs show great awareness. One of the things that strikes me about almost all of those early Lennon and McCartney compositions are those bridges. They called 'em the "middle 8." Those guys were the masters at bridge writing - and "Eight Days a Week" is a prime example of their craft.
