My Bride is restless She waits for our day And I twist up the telephone wire Maybe I’m nervous- She’s self-assured And she’s quiet, but never retiring She speaks with all of her voice Without compromises- She’s full of surprises
My Bride- so beautiful We sing at the altar No longer lovers at odds At the end of the party, revealing ourselves In the eyes of the state and the gods
And I’ve seen people carry on Oh so aimlessly I have seen all that’s good in humanity- Everything we can be Let it be you and me
My Bride is wearing white He loves tradition But doesn’t much care for the rules He stands beside me so confidently As he slips past his childhood foolish lies I see the allure of his veil And I embrace all of him- Every embroidered detail
And I’ve seen people carry on Oh so aimlessly I have seen all that’s good in humanity- Everything we can be Let it be you and me
My Bride fixes his stockings Beneath the gown that he bought and I see for the first time today
Maybe we’ll marry one day Maybe I’ll marry one day
