What would *YOU* wish for ... if *YOU* had found that genie in a bottle?! -steale
Story Behind the Song: As I laid in bed on a Saturday morning my 5 year old daughter crawled in next to me. She asked me, "If you could have one wish, daddy, what would it be?" ... I thought about her mom ... The song was written that same day. -steale
1ST-VERSE: I walked along the ocean Like a thousand times before Lost in thoughts of you I noticed something on the shore It was a bottle made of gold And when I wiped the away the sand Towering before me Stood the image of a man
2ND-VERSE He said that I had set him free And fate had just smiled down on me One and only one wish now was mine All the riches of the world, you see Were at my beckon call Whatever I decide, yeah I would have it all
1ST-CHORUS: Then suddenly it was clear to me No decision to be made If one and only one wish would come true, Then I wish that I could stop loving you.
3RD-VERSE: He said I am the greatest That has ever walked this land I've made kings, queens and history Ever since the dawn of man Then his eyes filled with sadness As he looked down towards the sand And said, "Though I am the greatest of them all..."
2ND-CHORUS: There is one thing I confess to you That even such as I can't do There's one wish even I can't make come true He said he couldn't stop my heart from loving you.
BRIDGE: Somethings in this old world Are forever cast in stone So my memories and love for you Are better left alone
Though the stars burn out, the earth stand still And the sun refuse to shine This pain that lives inside of me Is with me for all time
