Flower in the Desert Words and Music by Emily Sanders Copyright 2000
On an Indian summer afternoon Somehow I lost my way Looking for some peace of mind At the end of an autumn day Between the desert and the sky As I climb the mountain home The brightest star watches over me And I know I'm not alone
As night falls, there's a breeze Light as a butterfly's wing High above the softest clouds Where only angels sing A phoenix soars across the sky In majestic flight Out of the ashes she rises up Lighting up the night
There's a Flower in the Desert Under the midnight sky In the shadow, a star appears Like a beacon spreading light I bow my head and feel His grace Then I hold my head up high 'Cause there's a Flower in the Desert And a phoenix in the sky
There's a Flower in the Desert Under the midnight sky In the shadow a star appears Like a beacon spreading light I bow my head and feel His grace Then I hold my head up high 'Cause there's a Flower in the Desert And a phoenix in the sky
I bow my head and feel His grace Then I hold my head up high 'Cause there's a Flower in the Desert And a phoenix in the sky.
