It is all about backlashes against extremes...Countervailing Power
Roe vs Wade is great example of the pendulum swinging back and why the House, Senate and Presidency swings back and forth
People will realize the harm of public lying and how it is done for profit or self advantage....
Of course all goes out the window if the USA aspires to be a nation where liars are free to outdo eachother for personal gain...kinda like advertising blurs lines
