The "Tucker Carlson Edit" of Jan6 is despicably misleading.

I envision SNL will do a "cold open" of Tucker Carlson re-examining Charles Manson, showing "recently discovered home movies" of him cooking a happy meal for "the gang" with a chef hat on while singing "Volare," playing Twister with Squeaky and Susan, leading a round of Kumbaya with Tex Watson, and offering rambly bits about love, while Tucker narrates, and at the end adding, "does THIS look like a guy who could get people to commit violence for him?"

Carlson can be a good debater, but oft times he is falling into fallacy. His recent (edited video) case for Jan 6th is easy-to-spot cherry picking (fallacy). His most used form of fallacy is "the slippery slope fallacy" which plainly speaking goes like, "if we do THAT then ALL these HORRENDOUS things will end up happening" and that's all good and fine, except it does not prove anything, just that his writing staff and he have good imaginations and can takes us on an adventure, iow, entertain. I imagine a fun game could be made of this that could go viral like the Kevin Bacon game of days gone by, call it "A Butterfly Flaps it's Wings and---NUKES!" where the object of the game it to arrive at NUKES! from some simple "innocent enough looking" starting point:

"If we let Lego have a Downs Syndrome character, then what's next? Doesn't that open the door for Clue to dress Professor Plum in a sheer, nylon halter top and Monopoly to have "BLM" engraved in the top hat? And after all our kids' games are "woke" and they have lost their ability to make good decisions, isn't it conceivable SOME of these kids-now-adults will find themselves in charge of buttons that could blow up nukes? Is that what we want, NUKES?"

Exaggerated and satirical, yes, but in the service of making a point.

Practice critical thinking! Filter everything you read and hear through your own brain! Don't watch the news as if one network or anchor is in sole custody of "truth." Christians, doesn't this seem like having a "false god before you" to make Tucker Carlson in possession of Truth with a big T? Interesting that Tucker, behind the scenes, revealed different feelings about Trump than the ones I imagine he espouses on his show:

"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" indeed.

How many Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes ("A Face In The Crowd") moments need to happen before, as FD points out, a majority understand that ratings drive news, not "truth," and have for a while, something that Paddy Cheyesky presciently predicted in the great movie "Network" back in '76...
