Totally agree Steve, but Everett claim it was AI that made voices that sounded like their own grand kids.....

AI has no data to "pre" mimic a particular voice tailored to someone at the end of the line who is a randomly called individual

on the other hand...a random male scammer voice...and the law of large numbers...is far cheaper and more effective.

not saying AI will not find a place in the scamming world ...can't see how opportunistic inquisitive fellow men with the means and know how would not at least be tempted
I suppose the good guys in that scenario become the cops who chase those who would let temptation be their guide
