The difference in sound is perceptibile to audiophilles, people who are really into it. That doesnt mean digital sounds bad. But with vinyl the source of sound is phsically embedded In the grooves, a physical reason and yes the needle amplified through speakers adds to it. No compression We got away from it for the multitude if reasons that digital makes our listening lives easier.
