I can't read music, never wanted to. Someone once said "reading music is only good for playing what's already been written."

There are many great songwriters, composers and musicians who never followed any set rules. I myself look at rules as a limiter. When I started playing guitar at eight, I just picked it up and started "messin around" and eventually came up with things that floated my boat! I still do it the same way today and wouldn't have it any other way. I never read "how to" books or took lessons or went to seminars etc. That's fine for someone else, but I like what I do and the way I do it so phooey on rules!
