Hey Wy,
Paradoxical Intervention -- as much as I like your explanation -- is a technique wherein you get people to do your bidding by supporting the opposing actions they have been taking up until then. Essentially taking the wind out of their sails. Of course, it is generally done in a subtle way, and with children, but by way of example, by saying PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE...we fiesty women MIGHT think, oh, now he WANTS to keep it going, well forget THAT, Mister!
PLUS, guess what I just learned from our dear friends at Google?...Miss Emily Post has been dead for almost 50 years! (died 9/60)....no wonder this place is going to hell in a handbasket. I try to do my best to keep her spirit alive, but it's not always easy....For instance, she never spoke of the dilemma of trying to keep our legs daintily crossed at the ankles when wearing an air cast on one and a robot boot on the other. Alas, she died before her time...
Anyway, catch up with ya later...BTW, did you get my laptop song I PM'd you?
Polite regards Boo (HA HA HA HA)!
