Why do so many folks think in absolutes. One reason for things, one rule for things, one approach for things?

Bernie Taupin shows us it is not necessary in order to be wildly successful. Paul Simon shows us the singer songwriter can be a sublime creature.

The world is far more complex and exists between extremes..and that "in between" is a continuem, a spectrum, with lots of room for combinations.

So my take is no, it is not necessary.

But hey, throw it out there if you want to. I for one would like to hear what others say.
