Writing a lyric can be done in 10 minutes. To produce a song (playing, singing, mixing, editing, mastering) I need a week. That´s not 50/50  I see myself as a composer, but I know how to write lyrics.  Another jester!  Martin, many lyricists - myself included - spend hours/days/weeks on a lyric to polish it to perfection so that the whole finished package shines. (Heck, Jon Ims, who wrote the famous "She's In Love with the Boy", took months to complete the lyric. http://www.taxi.com/music-business-...tingandrewritingshesinlovewiththeboy.php) It's true that many musicians write lyrics. In fact, anyone who's capable of speech or of scribbling words in a language can write a lyric. The question remains: Is it any good? Donna
