Ah now were getting some place. That was a brave thing to say Kim and I think many people feel like that.
I understand you completely and I'm always tapping into those obstacles and ways of thinking in nearly every post I make about music. That always creeps in.. insecurity. But even more about "being truly happy with yourself and how VERY difficult that can be.
The higher you set your goals and the harder they are to reach the more disappointed you can be in your life. Some say well "that's life" deal with it and others make excuses or settle for what is.

No matter what the only real true failure is never trying.

If you want to learn to play or even think you might want to. Try! Don't deny yourself anything that YOUR in control of.
If it doesn't work out, so what? Nobody will use that against you only you'll do that. So there's were it doesn't make sense. smile

Bottom line on this subject to me is, if it's in your heart & soul to play music then you will. You either do or you don't. Same goes for lyrics poetry, painting whatever.
Can it be beneficial to a lyricist to play and make music?
Sure it could, could for most anybody who wants it or needs it in there life for whatever reason. No matter what else they do.

Thanks!
Peace Mike
