HIDee Brother C!

Most of my life I've been "Busy". Was too-busy playin' baseball as a kid to learn the Trumpet/got bounced from class after 4 weeks of non-practice..back in 4th grade. REST of my family was QUITE musically-inclined..Mom taught piano (which I wouldn't learn..to my later-in-life chagrin) & Sis taught flute (& I AM Capable of whstling..even trills..with the Best of 'Em)..Dad played Clarinet, while alive, Stepdad played a gorgeous Vega Banjo, & Brother Doug, Trombone. I played Hookey. DID sing in a Church Kid Choir, until my voice changed..LONG time ago.

I own 4-5 Guitars I've found in various flea markets/1's a Jimmy Buffett "tossaway" I WISH had been Autographed...2 are Electrics.
Also own several nice Synth-Keyboards/& various Recording Gear I never SEEM to have TIME-for to learn as Life STAYS Busy/I got BILLS to Pay! (I'd mastered Reel-to-Reel, THEN the Technology Changed.)

Over the years, various Good Guitarists HAVE tried teaching me the rudiments. So-far, all I REMEMBER is a "Cheap G". I also have BIG trouble remembering My Own LYRICS Onstage..so...I'm not bothered or ashamed to end up a mere "Lyricist", since most of my words sing IN My Head just-fine. (I've co-produced on 6 of my 7 CDs over the years...& DO know a trick or two about Production & Arranging.)

I've also learned that in Songwriting, 2..or More..Heads are often FAR better than One. I truly ENJOY splitting a song down the middle...& letting a GOOD Guitarist..or Keyboardist..Work Their Wonders. (Lately, some of the GOOD Ones ARE presenting me with THEIR Melodies to add Words TO...which REALLY gets my Creative Juices FLOWING.)

Which, frankly, so-far keeps me TOO-BUSY to worry a lot about Learning An Instrument. I've LISTENED Intently to Music for 60 of my 65 years..sorta Know-What-Works...in both the Words AND the Music Dep't. &..since I admittedly don't make Beautiful Music, I've focused on the Words part.

If I ever find myself Retired...yep...just MIGHT get one of those dust-gatherers offa the shelf...& Try Again~
