Polly
When I started writing songs I was about fifteen. I know exactly what you mean. Even then I could play - but when I came up with something good, my reaction was always to record it again and again and again and write down the words again and again and again. Even though I had written it - it felt like it had come from either inside or outside me! I recorded it on cassette and wrote it out, because not knowing where it came from, I didn't want to loose it and knew I could learn my own creation later so long as I had a record of it somewhere!
I'm probably mad Polly and worse still thankful for being so! LOL!
The human voice is the forgotten instrument, why every-one assumed I excluded that from this topic is probably my own fault - but i didn't.
Listening to lyrics read on audio (without music) would be a perfectly brilliant compromise to the issue I'm addressing here! Like you say you can hear the music in your head and the way you see it in your mind and how i should be expressed. I've heard your stuff Polly and loved it! You're a singer and performer. But for those that aren't just reading their lyrics aloud on MP3 would add so much more to the experience of their work for listeners and potential collaborators.
Why I'm the big bad wolf for suggesting such things, is something that in all truth, I must say is plainly beyond my comprehension!
As ever Pol, thanks for comments and inputs.
Best Regards
ColmT
