Re the producer thing well I touched on this in a previous thread...again I got knocked for six....for daring to say that recording and producing a demo was extra work over and above the 50/50 of just writing a simple melody or lyric for a song and should be compensated in some way.


Big Jim. as regards the above I fully agree with you and have never had a problem with distingusing from writing the music and doing a full blown demo. Some do have a problem with it though.

My beef is when the composer does a full blown demo as a matter of course when he/she knows its a co-write and then wants to claim he/she has done more and should have more of the song.

Whatever is agreed at the beginning of a co-write is what should be adhered to.
