I absolutely agree with this! If you don't have the drive, why would you engage in it?

And besides, writing lyrics are such a comprehensive craft (if you are ambitious about it) that it takes a LOT of your mental (and that can be physically hard too) resources, and there might not often be mental/physical surplus to do more.

Of course it can be an advantage if lyricists work on their instrumental/ production chops, but not if it takes too much away from the lyric writing, and thereby drains the fun out of being creative..
