I fell in love with AI but it broke my heart then it wrote me a love poem to reboot and restart our affair of the ages such a strange escapade how can you refuse when AI knows just what to say OK John Did you really write this little poem or did you ask AI to write a poem about writing a poem and did it write the poem after studying the poetic works of John Voorpostel...because when I read the poem there are traces of JV in the writing but I'm not sure.....and did I really write this post or was it ....AGGGHHH....LOL That's funny, like a modern version of this: “Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was myself. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man.” ― Zhuangzi, The Butterfly as Companion: Meditations on the First Three Chapters of the Chuang-Tzu This also reminds me of one of my favorite people, Laurie Anderson. A recording artist/visual artist/performance artist going back to the early Eighties, still relevant. She was recently presented by The Australian Art Institute with an AI version of The Bible, written to sound like her. Now Anderson uses that same AI program to generate new works in her own style: https://twitter.com/60Minutes/status/1551354290228195329Her observations aren't unlike mine, over the years. Most of what an AI "art/music/poetry" generator will create is crap, but if you have a keen eye/ear, there's gold in there as well, and the kind of stuff you would never have thought of, on your own. Wow...this feels like we've come full circle, haha... Back in the day I did a little computer programming 1970's and we called it being caught up in a Do Loop...LOL Steve
Creators of music have a responsibility to their craft. When they have finished using all the notes and words, they must pass them down to the next generation with a simple request. “Use these to create new music.”...Steven McDonald
