I've never looked at a collaboration as a 50/50 split on labor. Sure the end product may be 50/50, but I contribute what I can whether it be more work on my end or not. I don't care how much work I do as long as the song is worth it. The point is to finish the song. If it's successful, it will be done over anyway.
It's not like two guy's sawing a tree where one end has to pick up the slack for the other. Either way, the tree has to go down no matter what it takes.
Also, I don't like getting philosophical and using analogies. I like being simple. Think I'll take a nap now.
