Whow! I thought the judges would use the save for Casey - but not this soon. Since "America" didn't give AI what they considered an expendable contestant for the low vote, they had to use the save early. If Stefano would've been lowest, he would've been gone - with a split vote. If Thia, she would've been gone with a unanimous vote.
I've noticed some negative threads on AI's forums about Casey. I know a lot of us here at JPF appreciate originality and therefore have been more favorable to Casey than the others. However, it seems a lot of AI voters are from the karaoke crowd and want to hear singers who try to imitate the popular artist who performed the original song or the best selling cover as the case may be. Karaoke people like pop and country. Casey got a lot of criticism from that crowd after doing Nirvana's song. So now that the tour is set. It's a popularity contest. I just wonder what percent of the votes are free versus the unlimited pay per vote via text. That would be an eye opener as to the validity of this contest being "America's choice".
