Here's my ranking of the Top 5's performances.

So James held on IMO despite an excellent
attempt by Haley to top him.
Jacob made a bad song choice for his 1st song
but came back on Song 2.
Lauren sang her 1st song well but used a song
Simon Cowell mentioned in an X Factor
interview as a song he'd least like to hear for
her second song. Unchained Melody is overused
and in Lauren's case showed that she couldn't hit
the high notes with any power. This is one song
that an excellent singer would use to show off
their talent. Yet Lauren couldn't and didn't – and
none of the judges called her on it. Yet they went
after Haley for doing a lesser known Lady Gaga
song that she nailed. By their comments, Randy and
JLo would have us believe that we can't connect
with a song unless its been in regular rotation on
commercial radio at some point in time. Shame on
you, Randy & JLo for assuming that we're all sheep
to be controlled by the mass marketing firms with
which you do business.
Have the producers now picked Lauren over Haley?
Also I noticed that JLo didn't make any attempt to
influence ones to vote for the girls. My guess is that
the producers want Jacob & Haley gone and want to
see who gets the country vote between Scotty and
Lauren. However...
Scotty's 1st rocked only because the 2 Blondes were
backing him. The 2nd song was just boring.
