Actually picking the final couple is usually not very hard... the top 4 this year isn't that hard either. I bet if 100 people chose their predicted top 4, at least 85% of them would get 3 of 4 or all 4 correct. From a pure talent point of view, it's really easy at this point with only 7 left. Haley, Jacob and Stefano have all been in the bottom 3, 2 of them a LOT. The other only 2 haven't ever been in the bottom 3 I think (I might be wrong, please tell me if I am) Lauren and James have never been in the bottom 3, all the rest have. Casey had the weird last place save position when most of the public sites and press had him ranked first or second best up to that point. The stress seems to have messed him up and missing a show due to stress related illness hurt him I think as well. He did have two weak performances, but he's also been amazing more than 2 times. Only James has also been amazing more than once and in his case it's become the norm. But the gals have to vote on someone and the last girl standing is Lauren (Haley frankly has had 1 quality performance and that was her duet with Casey where she lit up the room... but too little way too late for her).

I expect it's possible 1 person may surprise us and slip into the final 4. But does anyone expect that 3 of 4 of the group of Casey, James, Lauren and Scotty won't be there? I really think eventually Scotty and Lauren will be splitting the Country fan vote and one may be at risk before they deserve to be. Casey has been the only real surprise bottom dweller this season and they used the save on the right guy. But it's clear that Iovine doesn't want him to win because he's just not into him, or James for that matter. (James KILLED Heavy Metal and was the best of the night, going against Iovines advice). Lauren is his pet now that Pia is gone and she's not rocking his boat. Don't underestimate that as a factor going forward. Subtle manipulation is quite effective. But it's all just fun speculation in the end. Most of the fun is guessing who is going next.
