Hi Midnite. When I first saw that Jacob was in the bottom three, I thought the same as you, he insulted a lot of people with his "mirror" comment. Their media coach from TMZ didn't do a whole lot for these contestants when it comes to how to avoid sticking your foot in your mouth. Do you really think Haley's experimenting or brown-nosing? Her over use of the growl is what causes me to think the latter. Isn't it ironic that Pia gets voted off when she didn't do a ballad and was dressed by Gwen Stefani? Which one factor was it - or both. Having the Mr. or Miss Perfect image doesn't do much for an artist celebrity these days because people don't identify with that. And when one competes against less than perfect people with whom people can identify, one can't win a popularity contest. The judges seemed to react with indignation when they heard that Pia was voted off. Here's my message for them (pardon me if I sound like Randy):"Yo dudes, critique these contestants and stop being cheerleaders." This point in the competition is were Simon is missed. It's harder to critique when the performance level gets higher - especially when the crowd is trying to intimidate you. Simon had the honesty and the fearlessness necessary to deliver suggestions for improvement. The judges are in a position to influence the swing voting - which is where I believe Pia lost some votes in addition to the negativity towards the Miss Perfect image. So they have only themselves to blame for the results.
