It may be too late to coach Lauren back to her natural self. I think she may be too young to stand upright in all the strong hot air that blows on her. She has been my favorite talent since the top 24 and I still love her voice. But the last two weeks she seems to have, like summeoyo said "thrown in the towel" She took being in the bottom 2 very hard. If she can call home this week and remember who she is, she might be able to avoid the cut next week.

I think the only one who can withstand a less that stellar performance next week is James. I believe he is the only contestant who has never been on the bottom in any week. Scotty was in the bottom 3 when there were 6 left. Lauren was in the bottom this week and Haley has been a hairs breath from elimination a couple of times.

Curiously, I think the two people who have the strongest internal confidence is Scotty and Haley. James and Lauren are emotionally very similar and are at the edge of their emotions.

Lauren, Scotty and James have careers ahead of them no matter what happens. Haley may or may not depending upon how she finishes.
