Brian,

I'll have to look back see what I said about James and see if I was guilty of "attempted prophesy" Here is a compilation of all the things I said about him. I was losing enthusiasm for him before he left, but clearly there was a time when i thought he was unstoppable.

March 10th (21:01 AM) James Durbin: Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed”
Maybe I'm amazed? No I am amazed. This guy is is talented and getting stronger.

March 17th: James Durbin – "I'll Be There For You" by Bon Jovi
Rock on James- you will be the big hit on the tour.

March 23rd: James Durbin -- "Livin' for the City," Stevie Wonder
Wow! This kid is ready to tour right now. Great voice, great range, great musical personality. Top 3 easily.

March 31st James Durbin, "Saturday Night's All Right" I hope this kid doesn't break his leg when he jumps off the stage, on to the piano, off the piano etc. Personally I didn't care for the song but it doesn't matter, he was in his element and I pick him to be in the top 3 when they are announced.

April 7th SHOW didn't review

April 8th Post results comments. The ones who do have large enough fans to reach the top three are: Lauren Alaina, James Durbin and Scotty McCreery

April 14th SHOW didn't review.
April 15th post results comments: Here is how I think they will leave the stage from here on out:
Haley Reinhart, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, James Durbin and Scotty McCreery- leaving Lauren Alaina. I think Lauren will win because she is Kelly Clarkson 2011.

April 21
James Durbin, "Uprising," Muse.
This kid is a concert rocker and he puts on the best show. If this contest is won by the best concert performer- he wins hands down. But my wife said she couldn't understand a word he said. When Scottie sang she said, "I can understand every word he says".

April 28th James Durbin “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.”
It there was any question as to who has been dominating the past few weeks, it was settled last night when he sang a song that, coming from a guy, could have been a disaster. He can go from a near scream to a perfectly modulated tender phrase in a millisecond. After tonight, I don't see anyone stopping him.

May 5th James Durbin, "30 Seconds to Mars."
Concert ready performer- just what he has been doing for the last 4 weeks.
Round 2: Classics from the 60s and 70s

James Durbin, "Without You." Very nice until he hit the power notes. Had he hit a few and then brought the song back down to Earth, I would have been with him all the way, but he stayed up there in thin air until his oxygen was all gone.

May 6th Curiously, I think the two people who have the strongest internal confidence is Scotty and Haley. James and Lauren are emotionally very similar and are at the edge of their emotions.

Lauren, Scotty and James have careers ahead of them no matter what happens. Haley may or may not depending upon how she finishes.

May 12th SHOW- I didn't review it- didn't have time.
May 13th Post results comments: James Durbin “Don’t Stop Believing.” Journey
Second song: “Love Potion No. 9.”
The first song was spectacular. The second song was a lightweight silly song that he couldn't transform. Had the song order been the other way around, he might still be in the competition.

AND THEN HE WAS GONE 4TH PLACE FINISH LEAVING HALEY!!!????

Haley looked utterly pissed when she was named to leave but nobody cried. I think she will have a modest career possibly touring with dad. James still could be the biggest post AI star. I think we are most likely to hear Scotty on the radio first. Lock them doors and turn the lights down low!
