Scotty McCreery: "Swingin'," LeAnn Rimes/ Jon Anderson (really) I had to sing this song in a country band in the 90's covering Jon Anderson and I hated it. I think it is a terrible song but he sang it OK. Why he picked it, I don't know. My wife oddly enough hates country but loved that song. Go figure.
James Durbin, "Uprising," Muse. This kid is a concert rocker and he puts on the best show. If this contest is won by the best concert performer- he wins hands down. But my wife said she couldn't understand a word he said. When Scottie sang she said, "I can understand every word he says".
Haley Reinhart, "Rolling in the Deep," Adele. It was better than Scottie but I already forgot it. But I think if there is a wild card in this bunch, she could be it. She is very inconsistent but sometimes she really soars like in the duet with Casey. She is also beautiful.
Jacob Lusk, "Dancing With My Father," Luther Vandross. I think this kid needs to come back in about 2 years to get his emotions under control. I don't feel at ease watching him no matter how many runs he puts in.
Casey Abrams, "Harder to Breathe," Maroon 5. Not impressed. I usually am with him but not tonight.
Stefano Langone, "Closer," Ne-Yo. Not enough. I didn't care for the song.
Lauren Alaina, "Born to Fly," Sara Evans.
Well it is easy to pick the top two and she is one of them. I love listening to her. She has so much magic in her tone, and she seems to be unaware of what she pulls out of herself.
The safe one are James and Lauren, then Scottie is only because of the strong country fans. Casey kissed JayLo so he slides to the safe side. That leaves the bottom three as Stefano, Jacob and Haley. I have a feeling Haley was good enough to stick around on or two more weeks, but Stefano or Jacob are in trouble. To me, Jacob was the worst last night. Stefano is always "good" technically but he is never interesting. I think Jacob gets just enough sympathy votes to keep him ahead of Stefano. So my prediction, which is worthless of course, is Stefano.
