It's going to come down to song choice - which is common in my experience with karaoke type contests(which like it or not AI is). Scotty needs to choose uptempo songs with which he can use the 2 blondes to create a party atmosphere because if James can hold it together, he'll come back with the rock show. Haley has found what works for her - combining a lesser known song that she can make her own along with a hit that she can have arranged to suit her style. Forget Randy and JLo's comment on using only well known songs. Jimmy was right for getting Haley to use Lady Gaga's song.
He's just going to have to find a least one two more of such songs for Haley.
