My nother 2 cents worth

Obama is doing so well because of a lot of factors. The biggest one being that he knows how to put out a feel good message without really stating what his real plans are. If most Americans really understood how far in the hole his, or Hillary's, plans are going to put us; they would be running as far as they could in the other direction. Our great grandkids will still be paying the bill if either gets in. He is also doing very well because a lot of white voters are feeling very guilty that we haven't had a black president, and seeing that he is so nice they figure he can't cause any real harm to the country. He is also getting the middle class black vote, when they will be in the same boat as the rest of us who'll end up paying for all these great sounding programs. I think one of the two will get into office. I only hope the Republicans can find a way to control the House and Senate. I don't think McCain is better, by a whole lot, But he looks like the safest alternative we have.

The one very redeeming quality democracy has, is it rewards effort. When you get into any of the other systems I've seen, all you have to do to live, is collect off others efforts. While this is true about the socialist policies put into effect here, such as welfare etc., it is not as prevalent as it is in the countries where socialism and communism reign. We are going farther and farther in that direction while most of the world is moving away from it. Personally, I'd rather not have a great portion of my earnings go to someone who doesn't want to work, or who wants me to pay for their multiple childrens health and education.
