Hi Bill,

Do you know where Watervliet is? I spent two summers there picking strawberries, running a bluberrie pickin' machine, picking tree fruit, and running a packing shed etc. I made darned good money at it. I also saw tons of illegals coming in with welfare checks and food stamps from every state the passed through to get there. I saw stores there that would sell them anything for food stamps, then put groceries from cash sale on the food stamp vouchers. I also saw food stamps being bought by store owners, and people who couldn't collect them for pennies on the dollar. My parents were migrant workers, and we didn't have it anywhere near as good as they have it today. But we still made a living at it till my dad got too ill to follow the crops.

I'm sorry to hear about your health. I hope things turn out OK for you. 6 more months and I'll be back down there for good. If you haven't got your house all fixed up by then, maybe I'll get to do some heavy lifting at yours while you help me with the tedious parts of mine...

Have a goodun,
