Dear Aunty Rantie:

My beef , and I could easily just grab a hold of those already posted and go to town, are those individuals who call me up, usually at dinner time or later on in the evening, to try and get me to give them money for something. (I.e., Charities)

Here in Quebec WE, the government, spend money on everything else but what is needed. Every time we turn around they want more. What do they do with the money they collect from me continuously? Let me see??

- put it into our crumbling schools? Nope.
- put it into our crumbling roads and water systems? Nope.
- how about our hospitals? Nope. (Great health care but do not, I repeat do not, get sick here.)
- Social services, the homeless problem, poverty, police force? Nope. (Want to commit a crime? Do it here. Statistically you will not get caught. That is a fact.)

What do WE, the government ,spend our money on? Let me see??

- Referendums. (Spilt from Canada, keep the money and military) Or don’t and…well there is no and.
- Should Muslim women be aloud to wear the head scarf? (After months of study and a cost that was out-there the answer was …YES!)
- Should Indian Children (not North American Indians) be allowed to carry their ceremonial daggers? (Inquiries, forms, meetings etc…MONEY!!!!). Yep!
- Investing in Hydro Quebec that made over something like 30 billion dollars profit, and being a dividend paying stock paid out to US, the government, something like 26 billion. (Mean while Hydro Quebec wants to raise my rate.)
- The League du Le Langue du Francais. (That is French for, wait for it, the Language Police!!!!! Their job to go around and measure English letters on signs, all signs, to be sure that the French is bigger and to follow up on complaints if the person behind the counter says terrible things like, “Hello.” or “Have a nice day.” or “Go to he//!!” (Well not that.)
- and a S//t load of other stupid stuff.

Which brings me back to the beginning of this rant. Since WE, the government, have so much money to play around with, (that money doesn’t include the profits from the lotteries either but that could be a whole other rant) then why am I being asked continually to give money to this charity and that charity?? Why don’t they call their representative? Apparently ’they’ have all kinds of money to spare.

And don’t tell me that without my contribution the charity will falter. That also is BS. And if it is true well then they are going to suffer. I am a charity on to my self.
