Auntie, it doesn't always work. Tobacco requires a certain climate and growing season that just doesn't exist everywhere. (On the other hand, it does grow in Connecticut. All hope may not be lost.) I have lived in places where you never saw a ripe tomato because the growing season was so short.
Joe And tomatoes won't even set a blossom at 108 degrees and above.
