Im not that old, When I was13 0r 14 I didnt like anything current. While other guys were discovering whitesnake and Metallica, I was just discovering the who and the stones.

I had no interest in 80's music to seriously listen to. There was some good music but it didnt move me.

I dont know if people need to be moved at all now. I gotta feeling tonight's gonna be a good night is enough to do the trick.

I have nothing against that song though.

I think songwriting as an art started to take a nose dive when artists such as the beatles started writing their own songs. The Beatles happened to be great at it, but the aftermath wasnt as good.

Little by little, decade by decade the songs and the music got less potent and watered down.

Now everybody and anybody can write a song very easilt thanks to technology, and we wonder why it's not as good.

Ill concede that there is still good music being written, I jsut think the trend is going towards production not song and has been for a long time, just moreso now.

Soon machines will be writing the songs too.
